Farmersville residents will be asked to pass a two and a half (2.5) mill general fund renewal levy. The current 5-year levy will expire at the end of 2012. The Council believes it to be in the best interest of the residents to renew the levy rather than to replace thus not resulting in a tax increase to its citizens. The residents of the Village need to know that this is NOT a new tax. It is a General Fund Levy originally passed in 1998. The money will go into the General Fund and will be used to provide and maintain current operating expenses used directly in the operation of the Village. This renewal levy will generate approximnately $35,035 each year.
